I am always looking for a new recipe or making my own.  It is no secret that I have a huge sweet tooth and now I have a simple way to make my own candy in less than 15 minutes.

I love sweets, especially candy.  The other night I wanted a candy bar so bad, but didn't want to leave the house.  So I looked through my pantry.  I found some chocolate chips, cashews and maraschino cherries.  I decided I could make my own and it came out so good.

Remember to use what you have.  I used an ice cube tray and some molds from my son's Easy Bake Oven.

If you are going to use cherries, make sure you drain them.  It will make them easier to work with.  Chop up your nuts to the size you want.  And then go ahead and melt your chocolate.

I lightly spray the bottom of the ice tray and molds.  Then in the ice tray, I put a dab of chocolate at the bottom, drop in the cherry or nuts and top with more chocolate.  For the mold, I chopped up some cherries and nuts and mixed them with chocolate.  After it was mixed really well, I spread it into the mold.

You can either let it set on its own, or place covered inside the refrigerator.  Then pop them out of the molds and enjoy.

The thing to know here is that you can use anything you have.  If you have some plain chocolate bars that you want to fancy up, melt them down and mix it with some almonds or strawberries.  And if you have kids, they would love to make their own candy.
