Local high school softball teams move into round two of the playoffs while baseball teams are starting the postseason this weekend.

Canyon and Bushland softball teams are gearing up for round two of the playoffs.

The Lady Eagles will take on El Paso Bel Air in the Area round Friday and Saturday on the Odessa High Field at the Ratliff Sports Complex in Odessa. Game one is Friday at 5:30 p.m. with game two on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.  Game three, if necessary, will follow game two.

Bushland will face Andrews at Lubbock Coronado's Field. Game one is Friday at 7 p.m. with game two on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by game three if needed.

In baseball, District 3-5A champion Amarillo High starts the playoffs against Abilene Cooper.  The series will be played at the Coronado Field in Lubbock beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. Game two is set for Friday at 4 p.m. followed by game three if needed.

Randall will battle Monterey in a home and home series. Game one is Thursday at 7 p.m. at Moegle Field in Lubbock with game two at Randall on Friday at 5 p.m. If a game three is needed, it will back in Lubbock on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Canyon and Lubbock Coronado will meet in a one-game playoff, set for Friday at 5 p.m. at Conner Park in Canyon.
