Hunger is an ongoing issue in our country.  It's an ongoing issue in our community.  That's why it is important to make sure that when it comes to feeding the hungry we have an ample supply of food.  The High Plains Food Bank is here to help that happen and donations are always needed.  Twenty-two years ago the National Association of Letter Carriers started an event called Stamp Out Hunger to help out the hungry.  This Saturday they will continue that tradition and will collect food for the High Plains Food Bank.

It's actually simple to take part in Stamp Out Hunger Day.  All you have to do is put together a  bag of non-perishable food items, and then place them by your mailbox on Saturday morning and your letter carrier will pick it up.

Here is a list of non-perishable food items most needed at the High Plains Food Bank at the moment:

Canned Vegetables
Canned Fruit
Canned proteins
Bagged rice
Bagged beans

One in six Americans struggle with hunger and you can help them out this Saturday.
