Friday Stabbing In Amarillo Turns Into Saturday Homicide
A Friday night stabbing eventually turned into a homicide after the death of the victim.
Amarillo police were called to 609 South Independence at around 10:35pm on a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival police determined the victim was 24-year-old Holly Elizabeth Combs who was no longer at the scene after being transported to hospital in a private vehicle.
Saturday morning Combs was pronounced dead an is awaiting an autopsy.
The suspect in the case, 35-year-old William Chad Stewart had turned himself in to Potter County and was booked on an aggravated assault charge with a deadly weapon on a family member.
Pending the autopsy police are planning on charging Stewart with murder.
