Amarillo ISD Director of Athletics, Brad Thiessen, has announced that he will bring the name of Randon Johnson to be approved by the AISD Board of Trustees at their next meeting as the Head Baseball Coach for Amarillo High School.

Johnson will replace Jeff Timmons who announced his retirement at the end of this season.

Johnson is a 1998 graduate of Amarillo High and has 16 years of coaching experience.  The last four years he has held the position of Head Baseball Coach at Bushland High School.  While at Bushland, Johnson guided the Falcons to four straight District Championships, a Regional Quarterfinalist, Regional Semi-Finalist, and a 30-1 district record during that span.

He also coached Palo Duro from 2002-2006.
