Legal proceedings for Clayton Osbon are ready to move to trial now that the former JetBlue pilot is found mentally competent to stand trial.

Amarillo was in the news worldwide on March 27th after the JetBlue plane flown by Captain Clayton Osbon made an emergency landing at Rick Husband Airport.

After acting oddly in the cockpit and excusing himself, he was locked out of the cockpit and had a hysterical fit.  Osbon was restrained by passengers while the copilot landed the plane.

The disposition of the case has been pending a mental review of Osbon to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial and face charges related to the incident.

Osbon has been deemed competent and been arraigned.  If convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison.  No trial date has been set.
