Former Amarillo Attorney Gets Three Years For 30 Years Of Tax Evasion

I don't think anyone likes to pay taxes.  But most of us do it.  It is what we as citizens must do.  Unless you are a lawyer in Amarillo.

John Lewis Lesly was convicted on tax evasion charges and was sentenced yesterday.  He went thirty years without filing a return.  1975 was the last return he filed.

I presume you have to be pretty smart to get through law school but they obviously don't teach civic duty or common sense.

Lesly will now have 38 months to ponder what he could have done differently and must somehow come up with over $800,000 in restitution.
