A water main broke at the Civic Center on Wednesday and again on Friday flooding parts of the facility.  Damages will be in excess of the deductible on the insurance policy.

The city has yet to determine the total cost of the damages to the Civic Center.  One estimate has the cost at potentially a million dollars.  The insurance policy on the building has a $250,000 deductible. The city has stated damages will exceed that amount and insurance should cover the remaining cost of repairs.

Currently the most pressing issue is power to the Civic Center.  The facility is being powered by generators because it would be too dangerous to run off city power.

The city is hosting a walk-through today for local media to view the damages.
