Drowning At Palo Duro Lake

A Spearman man is dead after an accident Saturday on Palo Duro Lake.

Police were called to the lake around 4:30pm on a report of a boating accident.  Three men were fishing on the lake when their boat capsized.

Two of the men were able to swim to shore.  Unfortunately 21-year-old Kyler Cator succumbed to the frigid waters and drowned.

Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Amarillo Police were brought in to assist with the recovery effort.

Searchers worked until 5am Sunday morning and then resumed the search at 7:45am.  Cator's body was located around 10am.
