The City of Amarillo is quickly growing towards the south and south west and existing water transmission lines will not meet the expected demand.

In less than two weeks the project will begin.  The plan is to pump water from one pump station to another and then a third.  Demand in the southern portions of Amarillo is currently being met but the population is expect to grown and soon will tax the system to the point of disruptions.

The new transmission line will run from NE 24th to the Osage Water Plant.  The work is planned to be completed in sections approximately a block at a time to avoid massive traffic disruptions in the area.

Condie Construction Company, out of Utah was awarded the contract worth $11.7 million.  The project's estimated completion date in April 7,2016.\
