Canyon Man Dies After Being Struck By Train

A canyon man is dead and the investigation into the events leading up to the tragedy are still being investigated.

49-year-ol John Griswald we waiting for a southbound train to pass but he stopped on the inside of the barriers.  A westbound train came along leaving Griswald little time to react.

The engineer of the train saw the man a sounded his horn twice in an effort to make Griswald aware of the danger he was in.

Either he didn't hear the warnings or felt he was far enough back from the tracks.  Unfortunately he was wrong/..

Griswald was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
