The Canyon girls team and Randall boys team rolled to big wins in the battle of Canyon I.S.D. rivals.

Number one ranked Canyon girls basketball team remained undefeated on the season with a 48-19 win over C.I.S.D. rival Randall on Tuesday night. Canyon is 13-0 on the season and improved to 3-0 in District 3-5A and stayed tied with Plainview for the district lead. The Lady Bulldogs beat Dumas 61-23.

Amarillo High stayed one game back of the leaders with a 67-48 win over Hereford. Palo Duro edged Caprock 46-42.

Tascosa girls lost to Monterey in a non-district game 68-57. Highland Park girls lost to Wellington 57-40.

3-5A boys teams opened district play on Tuesday night and Randall started with a bang. The Raiders rolled past Canyon 70-41.  Randall senior Luke Young hit seven 3-pointers and the Raiders knocked down 12 treys overall.

Caprock also made a statement with a 71-59 win over Palo Duro.  Amarillo High opened with a solid win over Hereford 51-28 and Plainview won over Dumas 83-39.

Tascosa boys won a non-district match up over Lubbock High 55-26.
