Behind a season-high 16 three-pointers, the No. 10 West Texas A&M men’s basketball team downed No. 8 UT Permian Basin 105-86 Tuesday evening in a battle of the top two teams in the Lone Star Conference.

Both teams head into February tied for first in the league standings at 10-2.

David Chavlovich was one of four players in double figures for the Buffs with 26 points. Gaige Prim had 18 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

WT held a 27-5 lead in points off turnovers as the Buffs forced 18 miscues by the Falcons.

The Lady Buffs had no trouble rolling to a 72-36 win over UTPB.  WT went on an early 17-0 run and had a strong defensive performance to improve to 9-4 in the LSC.

Lexy Hightower led the way with 17 points for WT.
