Things are in a bit of a mess at Thompson Park.

The Amarillo Zoo is spearheading the yearly volunteer effort to clean up the creek and shoreline around Thompson Park creek and lake.

If you say yes to getting filthy dirty, public service, and hot dogs the Thompson Park clean up effort is right up your alley.  The clean up is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th from 9am-noon.

If you plan on volunteering be sure to dress appropriately for working outdoors and a sturdy pair of work gloves.

Volunteers will meet at the Zoo on the morning of the event and embark for Thompson Park together.  After the clean up the Amarillo Zoo is hosting a hot dog barbecue back at the Zoo.

You are asked to RSVP in advance by calling the Zoo at 806-381-7911.  All volunteers will be asked to sign a volunteer service agreement as late as the day of the event.
