Tim Mohler was a teacher at Fannin Middle School.

However, he had not been teaching this year because of the allegations against him. He was under investigation for having inappropriate relationships with students.

On Wednesday, September 14th, Fannin Middle School Principal Steven Culwell sent a letter to parents about the nature of Mohler's death and the investigation that was underway.

Culwell also stated:

While we understand students need to grieve, it is important to note that research shows such tributes may unintentionally suggest suicide as an option to impressionable young students. For this reason, AISD will not sponsor or participate in any form of memorial activity on school facilities.

Mohler was 50 years old and had been a teacher at Fannin Middle School for 21 years. He was placed on administrative leave after Amarillo ISD began their investigation of his alleged misconduct.

However, his death will most likely bring the investigation to an end. If you are concerned about your child or another child in relation to the investigation, contact the Amarillo ISD or the Amarillo Police Department.

If your child needs help dealing with this event, the AISD Trauma Team is offering their services. You can contact them at (806) 326-3500.
