Amarillo SWAT Evacuate Residents In South Amarillo During Armed Standoff

Last night around 6 o'clock a man in the 3200 block of Danvers street barricaded himself in the house after a domestic dispute. SWAT was called in to relieve patrol duty officers and to take control as the man was armed.

The man refused to exit the residence and refused to let anyone in, as SWAT kept in contact over the phone. The APD bomb squad was brought in and the Bomb Robot was used to video and survey the premises.

The man spoke with negotiating teams off and on throughout the night. Eventually around 2 am the mand was taken into custody.
