Amarillo Police Investigating Thursday Homicide

Early this morning Amarillo Police were called to the scene of a shooting.

Amarillo Police responded to the call at 900 North Hayden at around 2:15am this morning.  Inside they found a man dead.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Gregory Lynn Battee, Jr.  He had a gunshot wound to the upper body.  Justice of the peace Richard Herman ordered an autopsy.  It will be performed in Lubbock tomorrow.
