An Amarillo man is in custody after allegedly breaking several laws simultaneously .

Gene Shaffer, 30 of Amarillo was pulled over for a traffic violation around 1:30am Friday in the 3100 block of Palm.  The specific traffic violation has not been disclosed.  Regardless, Shaffer was taken into custody for the traffic violation.

This prompted police to take an inventory of his vehicle before it was impounded.  During the inventory officers discovered two baggies with what appeared to be controlled substances.

According to police one of the baggies contained at least two ounces of marijuana.  The other baggie contained an estimated 15 grams of crack.

Shaffer was booked into Potter County on manufacture and delivery of controlled substances and possession of marijuana.
