Amarillo Man Shot In The Head By Girlfriend According To Police

Saturday morning around 4:30am an Amarillo man was allegedly shot in the head by his girlfriend.

Kricynthia Lashawn Black, 30, is now facing a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  Charges would intensify if her 34-year-old boyfriend dies from his injuries.

Officers were called to the 400 block of South Tennessee Street, near Southwest 6th between Western and Georgia Streets.  Police say what started out as a verbal argument escalated to a shooting with Black allegedly shooting him in the head.

The victim was conscious when police arrived and spoke with authorities about the incident.  He condition later deteriorated and was last listed in life-threatening condition.

There were six children in the home, aged 3-12.  They were all interviewed at the Bridge before being taken into Child Protective Services custody.
