It was a great night for the Amarillo area. We received about .49 inches of rain. That seems like nothing, but for an area like Amarillo, we will take what we can get.

This year has been devastated by a terrible drought and we are still 8.35 inches below normal for this time of year. The rain was short lived and by tomorrow we will be back up to 107 degrees.

The wind last night gusted from 59 - 70 miles per hour, and thunder clapped for hours. As far as the forecast for the Amarillo area, it doesn't look like we have any rain in our near future and almost record highs again, so take precautions and stay cool. And as always, pray for rain.
