Amarillo City Commisioners About To Vote On Cell Phone While Driving Ban; You Have Two Chances To Contribute

Our system of government is representative and you have an opportunity to represent yourself concerning your thoughts on banning cell phones while driving in Amarillo.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the ban and I don't talk on the phone when I'm driving.  That is usually how it works unfortunately.  People don't often see a potential violation of their rights until it is a specific right they flex.  Then suddenly it is a problem.

Whether you are for or against the potential ban and if you have a desire to express your opinion to the Amarillo city commissioners, your day is coming.

The commission decided yesterday to hold public comment periods during the upcoming meetings on August 28th and September 4th.  You are invited to come out and speak either in support or defense of the proposed ban.

It is widely expected the ordinance will pass as the mayor and most of the commissioners are in agreement that the ban is need.
