Early Monday morning an alleged drunk driver ran a red light and injured three, including two Amarillo Police officers.

Two APD officers were in a marked patrol car traveling westbound on Amarillo Boulevard East at Grand Street when a black 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche allegedly ran through a red light and struck the patrol car on the right side.  The force of the impact caused the patrol car to collide with a 2015 Dodge Charger.  The Charger was stopped at the red light to turn east to north at the intersection.

Officer Steven Deal and Officer Zachary Matlock, and the driver of the Charger were all sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Avalanche, 23-year-old Francisco Hernandez-Uribe was not injured.  He allegedly had been drinking.  He was booked into The Potter County Detention Center for two charges of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury to a peace officer / firefighter / ems and one count of intoxication assault.
