Everywhere you go in Texas, everyone is talking about one thing - Whataburger being bought by a Chicago investment group. Social media has been blowing up since the announcement was made last week and we have so many questions. For instance, will anything change about the menu or the taste of the food? Will the brand be expanding outside of Texas and the south? Will the chain lose it's Texas identity? Good news is that it appears nothing will be changing, for now. Whataburger went so far as to issue a statement to it's devoted customers on Facebook which read: " Texas, we don't want you to be upset. We will always be Texan and represent you in a way that makes you proud. #believethat."

Houston Texan NFL star player J.J. Watt tweeted "Ok, I say we all chip in and buy Whataburger back. Make honey butter chicken biscuits available all day, add kolaches to the menu and change nothing else. Especially not the ketchup." What started off as maybe a joke from JJ, has turned into a serious push from fans and even Governor Abbott. On Saturday, the Govenor tweeted a meme of former President George W. Bush that read, "Get in J.J., We're saving Whataburger." Could there be a real effort in the works to buy the chain back? We will see!

But, even with the corporate assurance that nothing will change, that didn't stop folks on Twitter and Facebook from making their voices heard. Below is just a small sampling of the funny and frustrated memes and posts going around:
