The Amarillo trial of the college student from Lubbock accused of planning terrorist activities took a strange turn yesterday; the defense rested without calling witnesses or introducing any evidence.

Aldawsari's defense must have some pretty strong closing arguments because that is all they will present in support of their client.

The prosecution took three days to make their case, the defense didn't even take one.

In closing the defense is expected to argue that the defendant never made the 'substantial step' necessary to make his activities a crime.
