After two weeks of increases, gas prices in Amarillo are down this week.

Although some in the industry believe higher prices are on the horizon, at least in the short term prices have fallen a bit.  Gas prices in Amarillo are down 1.8 cents per gallon, averaging $2.05 per gallon according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 147 gas stations in the city.

Prices locally are 74.5 cents higher than this time last year, 4.3 lower than a month ago.

Nationally prices are up to around 1.4 cents per gallon to around $2.27 per gallon.  Numbers nationally are down 7.1 cents per gallon over the last month and 57.9 cents higher than a year ago.
