Twitter is counting one billion tweets per week.  That's a lot of minutia.  And it means big bucks.

I'm not an avid user of Twitter although I do send out a station tweet everyday.  If you aren't getting our feed you should check it out.  There's a link or two on the site somewhere!

Twitter is five years old and to celebrate co-founder Jack Dorsey is sharing fun facts about the sites history and growth.  For example, it took three years, two months and one day for Twitter to go from one tweet to the mind numbing one billion per week they boast now.

Another topical fact: 177 million tweets were sent in response to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
