The City of Amarillo and the Amarillo police department introduced 12 new officer's today.

A graduation ceremony in the Grand Plaza of the civic center will host the proceedings with Municipal Court Judge Sonya Letson swearing in the new officers.

To earn their badge candidates had to complete 1,113 hour of police training.  Their academy started on December 14, 2014.

The 12 new officers will soon be on the streets enforcing the law and assisting the public.
