When Is It Too Much Mega?

I remember having a camera that featured 4 Megapixels and a floppy disc drive.  We thought we were high livin'.

Sony is at it again.  A little over a year after touting a CMOS Sensor(the business end of a camera) with a ton of megapixels.  Now they've outdone themselves.

They've got a CMOS sensor with 17.7 megapixels. This is about 12 more than you'll ever need.

Sony plans these for mobile phones and camera's.
