West Texas A&M and the NCAA are both investigating cheating allegations with the school's football program.

Reports of academic fraud have come when the football team is preparing for their biggest game of the season against rival Eastern New Mexico Saturday night.

A former member of the Buffaloes, Sophomore Joes Azarte Jr., a back up kicker has gone on record to say he took online courses for another player, starting wide receiver Anthony Johnson.  Even more troubling is allegedly the wide receivers coach, Joel Hinton was aware of the fraud.  The academic fraud was allegedly committed to ensure Johnson was academically eligible to compete.

Azarte Jr. has left the team.  The university has terminated Joel Hinton.  Anthony Johnson has been suspended from the team and potentially could not play the rest of the season.

The university has notified the NCAA and both entities are conducting separate investigations.
