An Amarillo man was killer early Saturday morning.

According to Amarillo police the car involved was going eastbound entering I-40's South Frontage Road.  The driver lost control of the car which rolled up an embankment.

A passenger in the car, David Christopher Lewis was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.  The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.  The passenger was also not wearing a seat belt which authorities claim played a role in the severity of his injuries.

The incident is still under investigation by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo police department.
