ROCKVILLE, Utah (AP) — Two people were killed after a rock slide destroyed their home in Rockville, Utah.

Authorities say at least a half-dozen large boulders fell from a cliff behind the house, destroying it and a garage early Thursday evening.

Springdale Police Chief Kurt Wright says two people were found after a search of the house, but police did not know whether they lived there.

Wright said the site was "unstable" and that crews would return to the scene Friday morning to recover the bodies.

The police chief said snow and ice had built up on the cliff and between boulders.
