This past weekend the cheering crowd of a victorious team took to chanting 'USA, USA, USA'.  It wasn't the Olympics, it wasn't hockey and it happened in San Antonio, Texas.

Patriotism is a beautiful thing.  And then it goes too far.

Alamo Heights' boys basketball team defeated San Antonio Edison this past weekend. San Antonio is mostly minority.  Alamo Heights is mostly white.

During the trophy presentation fans from Alamo Heights began the iconic chant.  But no one is celebrating now.  Alamo Heights has apologized to SAISD and the students identified will also have to apologize and have been banned from the state title games.

The incident is also bringing much unwanted attention to the area and the state.
