On Sunday, almost 2000 people participated in Toronto's first annual Slut Walk. (Yes, you read that name right.)

The march was in response to a January speech a police officer gave to students at Toronto's York University, in which he told the audience, "Women should avoid dressing like sluts" in order not to be victimized.

According to the marchers, the purpose of the walk is "to take the power" away from the word slut, and to make the point that women deserve protection no matter how they dress.

While some of the marchers did wear clothing that would be considered slutty, the Slut Walk would have probably been a lot more of a spectacle of skin if it took place in a city with warmer weather than Toronto. Read on to check it out.
