The Plane From Amelia Earhart’s Fateful Trip May Have Been Discovered

Investigators now think they may have found wreckage from Amelia Earhart's plane crash. 75 years ago, Earhart's plane went missing over the pacific and sparked one of the largest mysteries in the 20th century.

After analyzing a photo taken shortly after Earhart's plane went missing shows what some thing to be a landing gear of an aircraft sticking out of the water near Nikumaroro.

Historians will be returning to the island in July to hopefully uncover the wreckage from Amelia Earhart's plane crash.

“We see this opportunity to explore ... the last great American mystery of the 20th century as a vehicle for demonstrating how to go about figuring out what is true.”
