Each year, fans gather across the country for the return. From cities the size of Amarillo to major metropolitan areas, hoards of fans prepare themselves for an event that comes and goes for only a short period of time. That's right, the McDonald's McRib is back! And it is celebrating it's 35th birthday this year!

We last saw the McRib in November of 2017, but after a year off its back on the local Amarillo menus. As always, it features a boneless pork patty, barbecue sauce, onions and pickles, and is now available at more than 9,000 participating restaurants across the country. But new this year, you can have your McRib delivered. In some areas, the McDonald's "McDelivery" program is using UberEats to bring it right to your door.

So why do we only see the McRib for a limited time each year then it disappears? There are several unofficial theories that range from McDonald's capitalizing off the "once a year" buzz during the busy holiday season, to some saying that it's not popular enough to keep year round. Regardless of what the actual reason is, one thing is for sure, it is certainly a big deal when it comes back. Grab yours now, it will only be around for a handful of weeks!
