The great blizzard of 2013, the one that hit us on February 25th was not just troublesome, it was also rather costly.

TxDot has released the final tally on what it cost to clean up after the blizzard that buried some spots three feet deep and other spots with nary a trace of snow.  It was most certainly a blizzard.

Final costs for cleanup of the resulting mess was rather high.  The numbers reflect the several districts in our area, not just Amarillo.

Labor costs were around $425,000, equipment cost were just under $793,000 and material costs were about $364,000 dollars with a a grand total of $1,581,074 for cleanup.
