Another Saturday of buying, selling, and trading is in the books.

Even though it was a holiday weekend, that didn't stop us from putting on the dog and pony show known as The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon.  It's the show that invites you to call in and buy, sell, or trade.  You can even barter on Trade-A-Thon.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they list their items.  It's a way to tie the calls together and provides a theme throughout the program.  Being Memorial Day weekend, we had grilling on the mind.

Are you grilling this weekend?

Yes 13

No 13

A rare even split on the question.  We hope all your grilled delights came out well but not too well done.

RULE #6

At the beginning of each hour we go over the official rules of the program.  It helps initiate the newbies and reminds the regulars how the show works.  Along with the five regular rules, I always bring you a special Rule #6 that changes every week.

Sometimes inspired by something I did or said over the previous week, this Rule #6 was a timely reminder of the city ordinance on grilling inside the city limits of Amarillo.

Rule #6: Grilling on apartment patios and balcony's is prohibited.  Your grill must be at least 10 feet away from the structure.  The fine is $1000.

I've been in Amarillo almost 10 years and have lived in The Fortress of Solitude apartment at the Sleepy Hollow Penal Facility the entire time.  Meaning, I haven't been able to grill in nearly a decade.  This has not been pleasant and I take great offense to fellow inmates grilling on their patio or balcony.  And yes, I will call the fire department.

Get that grill away from the building and join us next Saturday for another Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon!
