It's almost time for back to school and that means it is time for the annual sales tax free weekend in Texas.

The law applies to most clothing, footwear, school supplies and back packs priced below $100 from sales and use taxes.  You could save around $8 for every hundred you spend.

State officials estimate shoppers could save as much as $74 million dollars in state and local taxes this weekend.

The sales tax holiday was first held in 1999 and has been an annual event ever since.
