Texas Driver Charged In Death Of Lousiana Person After Car Crash
VINTON, La. (AP) — Calcasieu Parish sheriff's deputies have booked a 23-year-old Texas woman with vehicular homicide and DWI following a traffic fatality in Vinton.
Commander James McGee tells the American Press (http://bit.ly/cseYHv ) deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash at around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.
McGee says deputies spoke with the driver, Devon D. Courmier, of Orange, Texas, and they detected a strong odor of alcohol
He says Courmier and her passenger, 24-year-old David Kurdupski, Vidor, Texas, were transported to a local hospital, where Kurdupski died as a result of his injuries.
It was unclear whether Courmier had an attorney.
