Susan G. Komen has terminated it's relationship with Planned Parenthood. This comes after PP has been under investigation for using public money to fund abortions.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation has provided grants to Planned Parenthood for the reasons of breast cancer screenings and education at all of their center across the country.

Leslie Aun, a Komen spokesperson, told the AP that they are ending the relationship with Planned Parenthood due to a policy change that disallows the foundation to provide grant money to any organization which is under investigation on the local, state, or federal level.

Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, has openly criticized the anti-abortion sentiments that lead to the end of the relationship between the two organizations.

Ms. RIchards said in a press release, “We are alarmed and saddened that the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation appears to have succumbed to political pressure. Our greatest desire is for Komen to reconsider this policy and recommit to the partnership on which so many women count.”

The Komen foundation has denied that politics played any part in the decision to cut ties with the Planned Parenthood Federation and that they have increased the grant standards.
