The Amarillo police department is continuing to investigate a stabbing that happened yesterday.

A little before 8pm on Sunday evening the Amarillo police department responded to a report of a stabbing in the Hamlet Shopping Center at 2650 Dumas Drive.

When authorities arrived they found a 34-year-old Hispanic female lying on the sidewalk outside one of the Hamlet Shopping Center businesses.  They found her to have multiple stab wounds to her body.  She was transported to a local hospital and was in serious condition.

Witnesses told the investigators that the victim and a suspect were arguing and the disagreement escalated with the suspect producing a knife and began stabbing the victim.  Two witnesses tried to break up the pair and help the woman but they too ended up with injuries, thankfully not serious.

The suspect is a Hispanic female, possible in her 30's.  She is approximately 5'4" tall and weighs 130-150 pounds.  She was seen leaving the area in a 90's model green Jeep Wrangler with a tan top.
