Amarillo police and emergency responders were called Sunday around 6:30pm last night.

A 45-year old man was tooling around town on his motorcycle Sunday when the accident occurred.  It happened at Western and Olsen streets. A van ran a red light and the motorcyclist has a short time to react.

When the cycle struck the van, he was thrown into the air and landed on a Chev Tahoe.  His bike came to rest underneath the Tahoe.

Witnessed told police when the two collided it sent the motorcyclist flying.

Thankfully this is a smart motorcyclist because he was wearing a helmet and could be facing several procedures at the hospital .  Good for the cyclist, he was wearing his helmet and didn't suffer head injuries.

No other people involved were not hut.
