Summer Ending, Road Work Carries On

There's a fairly lengthy list of areas you can expect delays due to road work this week.

Summer is drawing to a close but you can't tell by all the road maintenance going on this week around Amarillo.

Beginning tomorrow the right and center lanes on i-27 southbound from Washington to 45th will be closed.

On Wednesday the southbound right lane on I-27 will be closed from Hillside to Bell.

During the evening hours the next few days the eastbound I-40 ramp connecting to southbound I-27 will be closed to overnight traffic.

Tomorrow traffic on 45th will be reduced to one land going in both directions between Virginia Street and McCarty Boulevard.  This is part of the final phase of the water main replacement ongoing in the area.  The project is expected to be completed by November 1st.

The Texas Department of Transportation is also scheduling overnight closures along the I-27 and I-40 interchange.  Starting tomorrow those closures are scheduled from 7pm to 7am.  Traffic trying to connect to southbound I-27 will be detoured north around the work zone and into downtown Amarillo.
