Amarillo police responding to a report of a stolen vehicle found counterfeit money on Sunday.

A little after 4pm on Sunday officers were called to the 3100 block of South Taylor on a report of a stolen vehicle.  The owner reported she parked her 1999 Mercury in her driveway Saturday night but is was gone when she went outside on Sunday.

Around 5:40pm the stolen vehicle was located in the area of Northwest 9th and Louisiana.  When officers arrived they were directed by witnesses to a second vehicle that was leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.

Police pulled over the black 2001 Jeep at Northwest 11th and Tennessee.  Inside the vehicle they found a female driver, an illegal knife in the front seat, three counterfeit 20's, a printer and five copies of counterfeit 20's that had not been cut out.

The driver, Michelle Nicole Saldana, 21 was taken into custody and booked into Potter County of various charges.
