After a wait of over ten years, off track betting is coming to Amarillo this Friday with a racing facility to come by 2014.

It's legal and it's lucrative. And you can begin placing your bets this Friday at a new racing simulcast facility, featuring racing and wagering on 19 tracks located across the country.

In 2001, Drew Alexander purchased a Class 2 license allowing him to open a track in Amarillo.  The planned facility will cost up to $15 million and will located on 286 acres south of I40.   Saddle Brook park is expected to open late 2014.

In the meantime track owners have been approved to open up a betting parlor for off track, simulcasted wagering.  The Saddle Brook Jockey Club is at 4332 SW 45th. The 6,300 square foot complex will be able to hold around 200 patrons in a sports bar/restaurant setting.  The Jockey Club can operate up to two years before the opening of our local track.

The parlor will be open for your wagering this Friday at 11am.  Saddle Brook will simulcast Wednesday through Sunday and on holiday Mondays.
