Should I Feel Guilty For Having My Thanksgiving Like This?

I have to start by saying I love Thanksgiving. I do cook a really killer turkey and everything that goes with it. We look forward to it every year. BUT....

A couple years ago I decided to do something different! I am NOT cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I refuse. I did, though, ask my daughter if it was OK first. I'm not stupid. I wanted her blessing.

Here is my rationing. I love Thanksgiving as much as everyone else.....but I work A LOT. I mean A LOT. Oh and Thanksgiving Day is the only day for sure that I have off. So I decided that I didn't want to spend ALL day cooking.

I know that sounds selfish....and I don't have any family here in Amarillo besides my daughter. So we have started to order Cracker Barrel each and every year.

I get the turkey, (2 turkey breasts), cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, cranberry relish, rolls, pumpkin AND pecan pies, and I get to choose 3 sides. I always seem to choose the macaroni and cheese, hash brown casserole and mashed potatoes and gravy. I get all that for $109.99 and that is enough food to feed 10 people. Oh and they always give us a cute gift for ordering.

There is usually only me, my daughter and sometimes she brings a friend. So we get all the leftovers too.

I usually pick the meal up on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (I have found if I wait until Wednesday....I have to wait in line longer) and all I have to do is heat it up Thanksgiving Day. It literally takes less than 2 hours and I don't have to be in the kitchen slaving away all day.

Now there are some traditions I still have to do. I have to make my own green bean casserole (because it's what we love and our own recipe) and Faith always wants deviled eggs. Also this year I am trying an awesome recipe I found with corn and cream cheese and wait....more cheese.

So I will be cooking some stuff. It won't take me all day. I will actually get to enjoy my one guaranteed day off. Does that make me horrible for wanting to do that? Is it cheating? Well I will tell you it is good!!
