Short SWAT Standoff Ends Peacefully

Amarillo police had a little trouble serving a couple of warrants on Tuesday.

Around 3:30pm officers went to serve two non-felony warrants at the 1300 block of North Harrison.  As they arrived the men they were attempting to serve were seen running into the residence.  The officers tried to make contact but got no response from inside the house.

They believed at least one of the suspects was armed and out of caution called in the Amarillo SWAT team to draw them out.  Just before 5pm the men surrendered to authorities.

28-year-old Logan Bailey Lawrence and 28-year-old Carlos Rene Perez were both taken into custody.  Two other men in the residence were released.

Lawrence had a Parole Violation Warrant for Dangerous Drugs and a Bond Forfeiture warrant for Dangerous Drugs out of Potter County. Perez had a Parole Violation Warrant for Dangerous Drugs. Lawrence and Perez were booked into the Potter County Detention Center. The other two males were released at the scene.
