Shooting On McCormick Road Leaves One Dead, One In Custody

A man was shot and later died from his injuries in Amarillo yesterday evening.

Randall County deputies responded to a 911 call on a report of a shooting at around 5:40 Monday evening.  The deputies arrived at 2517 McCormick Road and found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.  The alleged shooter, also a resident of the same home was still at the scene.

The alleged shooter was taken into custody.  The victim was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital where he died from his injuries during surgery.

The alleged shooter is being held at Randall County.  The names of the victim and alleged shooter have not been released.
