The investigation in the street racing incident that resulted in the injury of a child ejected from a truck is making progress.

The Sunday wreck on Amarillo Boulevard and Martin Road sent three people to the hospital, including a child that was ejected from a pickup one of the racers struck.

An orange Ford Mustang was racing another, the second one white.  The orange Mustang struck the pickup truck leaving the child with life threatening injuries.  The occupants of the orange Mustang were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The white Mustang fled the scene.

Amarillo police have made a preliminary identification of the white Mustang and are searching for the owner.

The driver of the orange Mustang is a member of the group known as DRA.  Members of the group drove by the scene of the crash.  The group has created a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the family of the child.
