SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A South Texas man has been accused of doing a drug deal by phone when his 11-month-old daughter drowned in her bathwater.

Bexar (bayr) County jail records show 21-year-old Romeo Alexander Duncan of San Antonio was being held Wednesday on a charge of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by omission. Online records don't list an attorney for Duncan, who was charged Tuesday with bond set at $150,000.

His daughter, Rubi Lynn, died June 2. An affidavit says Duncan said he was giving her a bath, left for a few seconds to get her clothes and returned to find her under water. Police say Duncan later changed his story about how long he was away.

Sgt. Javier Salazar says it appears Duncan was engaged in a drug deal.
